# About Me

I’m Akshit, a CS undergrad at JNU (Class of 2027) and a systems software engineer. I spend my time writing Rust and C, tweaking microkernels, and staring at CPU scheduler queues.

I use Emacs and Guix, which tells you everything you need to know about my patience levels (and my sanity).

Recently, I spent the summer as an RSoC developer for Redox OS, where I ripped out the legacy Round-Robin scheduler and replaced it with an Interleaved DWRR and EEVDF implementation. You can read about how that resulted in a 782x fairness improvement on the blog, or on Phoronix.

Right now, my current focus is bridging the gap between hardware and software. I am suffering through the OSTEP book and documenting a deep-dive analysis of the Redox kernel to map theoretical OS concepts to production Rust code.

I am currently looking for a Systems / Rust Internship for Jan–April 2027, transitioning into a full-time role afterwards. If your team builds low-level infrastructure, hypervisors, or high-performance backends, I’d love to connect.
